Tepmetko (tepotinib) targets MET exon 14 skipping alterations, which drive a small but distinct subset of lung cancer that had few targeted options until recently.
Taken once daily, tepotinib selectively blocks MET kinase signaling to slow tumor growth in adults with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer harboring MET exon 14 skipping alterations. It was the first once-daily oral MET inhibitor cleared by the FDA, differentiating it from twice-daily alternatives.
Tepmetko’s accelerated approval was later converted to full approval on confirmatory data, removing its main regulatory overhang, and it faces no generic competition. It is a core comparator in MET-altered NSCLC and relevant to biomarker-driven trial planning in lung cancer.
